The WestRoom
About
The West Room on Melville Place in Edinburgh’s West End, is the first Cicchetti Bar to grace Scotland’s capital city. Born in Venice, Cicchetti are small snacks, similar in concept to Spanish tapas, which are typically eaten accompanied by a small glass of wine, called an ombra. Some theories imply that the Venetian word cicchetto derives from the Spanish word chico, used to implicate something small, since the size of cicchetti is small like an appetiser. The West Room has been bought by the Pieraccini family who also own award-winning restaurant The Seafood Ristorante in Saint Andrews. With the refurbishment complete and a new lease of life injected into the venue, The West Room now brings an elegant and vibrant offering to Edinburgh with a touch of Italian flare.
