About

Crocketts is an elegant gin bar, situated in the bustling cultural quarter of the beautiful and historic city of Exeter. It is Exeter’s first gin bar and opened in the summer of 2017. The bar is housed in a Grade II listed two story building in the historical Gandy Street area (rumoured to be used as inspiration by JK Rowling for Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books). Crocketts is named after William Crockett, a wine and spirit merchant who sold his wares from the street in the 1840’s. Mr Crockett was also Mayor of Exeter in 1823. After housing a clothes shop for several years, it seemed fitting to name the bar after William given that the quaint old building now houses alcohol once more. Crocketts was voted Food Magazine 'Best Cocktail Bar'in the south west in 2019
