Sparrowhawk Backpackers is a small, friendly, relaxed, eco-hostel, converted barn, more like a homestay, within the atmospheric Dartmoor National Park, Devon. Groups and individuals are welcome. An ideal base to explore all Dartmoor has to offer. The hostel is located in the village centre with several shops, P.O, cafes, info. centre and pubs serving good food/beer. There is a self catering kitchen, tea/coffee provided. Great place for cycling on and off road, hiking, climbing, wild swims, wildlife, archeology, high open moors and tors, chill out picnics by ancient woodlands, stone circles and rivers. Moretonhampstead is a lively village and home to many artists, craftspeople and musicians, so you may catch a music session in the pub and visit the gallery and studios. The bus stop is just 2 mins walk with frequent direct buses to and from Exeter. Trains - Paddington to Exeter, 2 hr. 15Min./ Waterloo- Exeter, 3hr.30Min. Bristol-Exeter, 1hr. The hostel also provides secure parking for bikes and motorbikes if you arrive on 2 wheels. Cars must be parked in the public car park (free at night).
