Wonderfully atmospheric 16th Century coaching inn with a rustic fireplace and a large and beautiful beer garden. Bar opening hours are 4pm-11pm Monday - Saturday and 4pm-10.30pm on Sunday. Simple food is currently served Monday - Saturday 6-8.30pm only. There are many beautiful walks right on our doorstep; miles and miles of paths criss-crossing the enchanting river Teign valley. Very dog friendly. We serve three local real ales which are kept in great condition. We also have an oft-commented upon ‘top shelf’ which maintains a large selection of single malt whiskies (mostly Scottish Speyside & Island, but also several Japanese) and we normally have about twenty different gins (and we know with which fruit to serve them); and, not least, we have a selection of quality wines. There is normally a roaring log fire (even in Summer) and children and dogs are welcome.
