RSPB Titchwell Marsh
About
The RSPB Titchwell Marsh is a 171‑hectare nature reserve on the North Norfolk coast, stretching from sandy beach to reedbeds, freshwater lagoon and wooded car park area. Managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, it offers tranquil walking routes, three bird hides, a seawatching platform and a visitor centre that is open daily (except Christmas and Boxing Day), all of which are largely wheelchair accessible. Renowned for its breeding and wintering birds—including marsh harriers, bitterns, avocets and flocks of waterfowl—the reserve also hosts historic World War I and II remnants such as pillboxes and artillery targets. Visitors can explore the Fen Trail, Meadow Trail, and Island Hide for excellent bird‑watching and can enjoy the café inside the visitor centre, all while being free to enter (though non‑members may pay a small car‑park fee).
