Bridlington Spa
About
Bridlington Spa sits proudly on South Marine Drive, overlooking Bridlington’s sparkling South Bay in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Originally opened in 1896 as a seaside pavilion, the beautiful Art‑Deco building has evolved into a versatile venue that combines a grand Royal Hall, an Edwardian‑style theatre, a contemporary gallery space and a cozy café bar—all boasting sweeping views across the sea. Over the decades the Spa has weathered fire, reconstruction and extensive refurbishment, the latest of which cost £20.5 million and was completed in 2008. The revitalised interior now features a 3,800‑seat standing capacity Royal Hall, a 675‑seat theatre with modern lighting and sound systems, a Harbour Suite with panoramic bay views, and a Gallery Suite that showcases rotating exhibitions of local artists. Today it hosts an eclectic mix of events: live music concerts, theatrical performances, stand‑up comedy, dance festivals, and a host of business and community events. Its versatile spaces have welcomed a wide range of popular acts, from punk legends Oasis to contemporary bands like The 1975. The Spa also offers free guided venue tours on at least one Sunday each month, giving visitors a chance to explore its historic ambience and architectural highlights without charge. For regular visitors and event guests, tickets can be booked online via the official website
