Samphire Hoe
About
Samphire Hoe is a 30‑hectare nature reserve created from the spoil of the Channel Tunnel construction, now managed by Eurotunnel and the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership. The reserve is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity, hosting over 200 plant species, 220 bird species, 30 butterfly species, and a remarkable early spider orchid population. It offers sweeping cliffside views over the English Channel, a modern educational shelter, and several lagoons that support rare wetland wildlife.
