Ben Nevis Distillery
About
Welcome to Ben Nevis Distillery, Scotland’s oldest and most iconic single‑malt whisky producer, situated at the very foot of the UK’s highest peak. Open since 1825 and now under the ownership of Nikka, the distillery has a rich heritage that blends traditional Scottish craftsmanship with international expertise. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour of the visitor centre and café, learning about the distillery’s production process, the unique water source from Allt a’ Mhuilinn, and the history that stretches back to the early 19th century. The site opens daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended weekend hours (10:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturdays in summer months and 12:00 – 6:00 PM on Sundays) for those looking to combine whisky tasting with breathtaking mountain views. Tours must be booked in advance by email or phone; children under five years old are not permitted on the tour, and dogs are only allowed if they are guide animals. The on‑site bar and shop open from 10:00 AM, offering a selection of Ben Nevis whiskies and souvenirs for a truly memorable Highland experience.
