The Red Lion dates back to 1840 and is conveniently situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders in the village square of Earlston. Only 30 miles south of Edinburgh the Red Lion is well located for exploring the Scottish Borders and the capital city of Edinburgh. With the newly opened Borders Railway providing a direct rail link to Edinburgh Waverley station, day trips to the capital are a popular excursion for our guests fro Tweedbank station only 10 minutes from the Red Lion. All rooms are ensuite with flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities and those at the front of the building have views over the village square. Free fibre optic wifi is available throughout the Red Lion. The Red Lion currently has 8 standard bedrooms (2 singles, a twin, a twin/double and a triple). And 3 superior double rooms which were brand new for 2016. Recently graded by Visit Scotland as 3 star, the staff at the Red Lion are delighted to help our guests with their local knowledge.
