About

The Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is an enchanting, open‑air art adventure that winds through the ancient woodlands of Gloucestershire. The trail currently features sixteen permanent sculptures created by internationally renowned artists, including Kevin Atherton’s towering stained‑glass “Cathedral”, Keir Smith’s timber‑crafted “Iron Road”, and Carole Drake’s evocative “Dead Wood”. The 7‑kilometre route – which offers 3.5‑km and 4.8‑km shortcuts – is open from dawn to dusk each day of the year, giving visitors a full day to explore at their own pace. Admission is free, although a small parking charge applies. Dogs are welcome on lead and a trail map can be purchased at the Beechenhurst Café at the start of the trail. With its blend of contemporary sculpture and natural landscape, the Trail is a must‑visit for art lovers, hikers, and families alike.
