The Kings Head is a beautiful Grade II listed building set in the heart of the picture postcard village of Allendale, Northumberland. Situated on the market square, we are ideally located to make the most of the village and its amenities. The pub itself has five guest rooms, one twin, two double and two king size, all of which have either a private bathroom or en-suite shower room. Each room is centrally heated to make your stay cosy in the colder periods and comes equipped with a TV, tea & coffee making facilities and your towels. We can also provide ironing facilities for you to use if you require. Our staff are smartly dressed and always wear a smile on their face. We assure you of a warm friendly welcome to make you feel relaxed and comfortable in our traditional surroundings. Once you’re settled into your room, you may fancy a drink and a chat in our homely bar area. Why not try one of our quality cask ales or a warming spirit from our collection. We also stock a range of keg beers and lagers as well as soft drinks for those who want something non-alcoholic. Our small kitchen prepares fresh ‘pub grub’ which is served in our comfortable dining area. Chat to our locals who regularly visit the pub. They’ll tell you tales of the area and give you the low down on the lesser known routes to explore on your travels. Walk out of the front door and you are ready to set out on a journey of exploration in the gorgeous Allen Valley’s area. No need to take the car, just put on those walking boots and set off in any direction. You’ll be reveling in the amazing views and stunning scenery in no time at all. For those wanting to visit local attractions, then we have it here waiting for you. How about a visit to the famous High Force Waterfalls where you can stand in awe at the amazing power of water or Hadrian's Wall to see how the Romans lived.
