Buxa Farm Chalets
About
Buxa Farm Chalets and Croft House offers three Norwegian‑style semi‑detached chalets and a refurbished croft house, all perched on 20 acres of unspoilt land overlooking Scapa Flow and the hills of Hoy. With four‑star VisitScotland certification, each chalet accommodates up to four people and features a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, multiple bedrooms and a contemporary bathroom – all accessible with ramps and lowered switches for guests with disabilities. The croft house, a sympathetically renovated derelict building with underfloor heating, a multi‑fuel stove and a spacious lounge, can sleep up to eight and includes a dedicated play area for children. All units offer panoramic sea views, free Wi‑Fi, and optional extras such as a hot‑tub hire (£250 per week plus £60 for utilities) and an on‑site electric car charger. Guests can book directly through the official booking page, with a 30 % deposit required and a minimum stay of three nights, although short breaks from January–April and September–December allow stays as short as one week. The property prides itself on a family‑friendly atmosphere, welcoming children and providing amenities such as cot, high chair, and a play park. The award‑winning accommodation has earned the 2024 Orkney Tourism Award for Best Self‑Catering Accommodation Experience and the Tourism Individual of the Year award for its host, Kathy.
