About
Built in the late 1800’s, the Royal Station Hotel has been a landmark building in the small market town of Carnforth for almost one hundred and fifty years. The hotel has a prominent position on Market Street, directly opposite the historic station, made famous by Oscar-winning director, Sir David Lean’s 1945 film, ‘A Brief Encounter’, considered by many to be one of the most romantic films of all time. The cosy restaurant and quiet bar area offer a selection of traditional, home-cooked dishes, made using local ingredients wherever possible, as well as a wide range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
