About

Lydford Gorge is a spectacular, steep‑sided canyon carved by the River Lyd in Devon’s famous Dartmoor National Park. Visitors can enjoy the 30‑metre‑high Whitelady Waterfall, the dramatic Devil’s Cauldron pothole, and a range of walking trails that weave through temperate rainforest. The site is family‑friendly, dog‑friendly, and offers educational talks, wildlife spotting, and plenty of picnic spots. During the winter, entry to the waterfall trail is free and some trails are closed for safety work, so check the National Trust website for the latest opening times before you go.
