Built in 1779 to house the bustling wool trade, its soaring colonnaded halls and classic façade now host a vibrant mix of independent shops, cafés, bars and a cutting‑edge heritage centre. Visitors can explore interactive exhibitions such as the Piece Hall Story, the fully restored Map Room and the Trader’s Room, all while enjoying a dynamic lineup of concerts, family events and art displays. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (midnight on Friday and Saturday), it offers a free, accessible cultural experience that celebrates Yorkshire’s industrial past and contemporary creative spirit.
