About

Bank House Farm is nestled in Hulme End, pretty hamlet a mere 10 miles from bustling Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton. The Town of Leek is also only 8 miles away. The farm lies along the Manifold River and is surrounded by sweeping countryside. The farmhouse itself dates back to the Victorian era. You have a good chance of spotting the resident wildlife too, including owls, sparrow hawks, kingfishers and ducks (lots of ducks!), plus the river is well-stocked with fish. Across 10 acres, there are two separate fields. There are hardstanding and grass pitches which welcome campers and tourers, with the option of plenty of 16-Amp electric hook-ups. If you're in need of electric, you'll pitch up in the field closest to reception, which is also the closest to the facilities. Just over a sweet bridge is the meadow field for relaxed and freestyle camping, without electric. A maximum of two dogs are welcome per pitch. We are open from 1 March to 31 October (subject to change, please enquire) Our facilities include separate male and female free showers and toilets with electric shaver/hair dryer points, a pot washing area and access to fridges and freezers, also free of charge. We have all new 5* facilities coming for the start if 2020 season too which we are really excited about. You can purchase Calor Gas and Camping Gaz on site and fishing can be enjoyed by arrangement and during less busy periods. The Manifold Inn is literally directly outside our main site entrance, serving delicious food daily and also a campers breakfast, and there are shops, fish and chips and pubs in Hartington. We also have a Fish & Chip van visit us on site on Saturday evenings.A wider range of shops are just 20 minutes away in the car. A bus stops right outside the site and goes to Ashbourne, Buxton and Bakewell. Things To Do On Site and Around the Buxton Area How could you be bored in the Peaks? Everywhere you turn there are magical landscapes, charming towns and villages and big attractions waiting to be explored. Grab your boots and take to the local footpaths and cycle routes. Be sure to stop off at local Thor's Cave, a majestic cavern that would make the perfect hideout for ancient creatures of myth and legend. Thirsty work? Luckily the Manifold Inn is literally opposite site and its sunny beer garden is a great place for a tipple or a tasty meal. Or, only 200 yards from your base is Hulme End Tea Junction, a pretty tea room at the start of the Manifold Valley Trail, where you'll want to have a cuppa and a slice of delicious cake. The Tissington Trail is a must-do for anyone on two wheels, or you can head to Carsington Water for a splashing good time and Alton Towers for a scream. Those with a head for heights will love the views from The Heights of Abraham. Other great options to explore: Chatsworth House Haddon Hall The Roaches Bakewell and its puddings Denby Pottery shop and Visitor Centre Buxton Spa and Opera House Eyam Hall
