1573 Bar & Grill is a local independent restaurant operating since 2009. Located in the Old (Free) Grammar School within the Highcross shopping centre, on Freeschool Lane, Leicester this grade II* listed building was completed in 1573 and is one of the oldest schoolhouses in England. Meals are prepared using fresh seasonal produce serving Small Plates, Lunch and Dinner accompanied by fine wines, beers & cocktails. In our unique, historical, 16th Century building, we deliver a fantastic dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu includes steaks, seafood and vegetarian options, with a selection of mouth-watering sides and sauces so you can choose your flavour of the day. Situated at the front of the building is our benched, terraced area where you can enjoy some drinks and dining overlooking the surrounding area.
