International Bomber Command Centre
About
The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, is a moving tribute to the crews and support staff of Bomber Command during the Second World War. Set on 10 acres of landscaped Peace Gardens, the centre is anchored by the tallest war memorial in the UK – the 31‑metre‑high Spire that stands 30.9 m tall – and the Walls of Names, engraved with almost 58,000 names. Visitors explore three interactive exhibition galleries in the Chadwick Centre, covering the Core Themes of Recognition, Remembrance and Reconciliation. The Hub Café, offering locally sourced treats and refreshments, sits beside the Spire. Admission is free, but tickets are required for access to the galleries; they can be purchased online or at the reception desk before the daily closing at 5.00 pm. The IBCC also offers free guided tours, a range of educational programmes, and an online digital archive that preserves the stories of all those who served or supported Bomber Command.
