Formby Point
About
The National Trust’s Formby Countryside Office invites visitors to experience one of Europe’s finest sand dune habitats, where rare species such as natterjack toads and red squirrels thrive. With its endless shoreline, prehistoric footprints, and two shipwrecks, the beach offers a unique blend of wildlife, history and adventure. Whether you’re a family looking for a day out in nature, a history enthusiast exploring ancient shorelines, or a solo traveller eager to wander through untouched dunes, Formby delivers a memorable coastal escape. Ahead of the major conservation work at the Victoria Road car park, the site remains fully open for beach access, walking, and wildlife watching, with Lifeboat Road car park operating 9 a.m.–4 p.m. All visitors are encouraged to arrive early during peak seasons to avoid crowds and make the most of the dunes and woodland trails.
