About

The Wheel of Liverpool is a 60‑metre‑tall, transportable observation wheel located on Keel Wharf at the River Mersey. Unveiled in 2010, the 365‑tonne structure boasts 42 fully enclosed capsules that provide a 360‑degree view of the city and its waterfront, with a single rotation taking just ten to twelve minutes. The wheel is illuminated by 75,000 LED lights, making it a striking landmark at night. After a brief closure for refurbishment in 2020, it was dismantled, upgraded in the Netherlands, and reopened in summer 2021, continuing to draw visitors from around the world.
