About

Brown’s Hotel in Laugharne is one of the world’s iconic literary addresses due to its association with legendary Welsh poet and writer, Dylan Thomas. As well as the iconic bar it has 14 luxurious bedrooms, and the Penderyn Restaurant with a recently added additional vegan menu - which opened to rave reviews in July 2018. Browns Hotel, built in 1752, has always been the social hub of the township of Laugharne which Dylan described in 1934 as, ‘…the strangest town in Wales.’ As well as Dylan many other luminaries have walked up the three stone steps including Mick Jagger, Pierce Brosnan, Patti Smith, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and President Carter. On its re-opening in 2012, Brown’s Hotel was given a 'cool factor' of 9/10 by The Times and has once attracted excellent reviews in publications like Tatler, the New York Times and the Telegraph. Browns Hotel is part of a family of companies that includes Penderyn Distillery.
