About

A woodland garden and organic showpiece, Greencombe extends along the tree-covered slopes of Exmoor and offers visitors outstanding views over ancient fields onto Porlock Bay. Moss covered paths meander through an outstanding collection of camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas flourishish among Japanese maples under a canopy of oaks, hollies, conifers and sweet chestnuts. Trillium, roses, clematis, and hydrangeas flower among ferns and the garden's four National Collections of Erythronium lilies, Vaccinium and Gaultheria shrubs and Polystichum ferns. For 55 years, Greencombe has thrived using organic gardening methods, with a riot of birds and butterflies all around. Home to a champion English Holly tree, one of the largest and oldest in the British Isles, Greencombe is full of rare and wonderful plants and has much to delight every visitor.
