Dishoom Battersea opened in the year 2023. The café sits in the shadows of the red brick behemoth that is Battersea Power Station (which once supplied a fifth of London’s electricity), where it serves Bombay comfort food and first-class drinks from a lovingly curated menu. Retro-futurism inspires the café story, design and artwork, and through these elements the restaurant reimagines Bombay in 2023, viewed through the lens of the 1950s. It also nods to the architects, town planners, inventors and writers, and the worlds they dreamed of.
