Peter Harrison Planetarium
About
The Peter Harrison Planetarium, located within Greenwich Park, is a 120‑seat digital laser venue that brings the cosmos to life with immersive audio‑visual shows. Opened on 25 May 2007 and funded by philanthropist Peter Harrison, the planetarium is part of the Royal Museums Greenwich network and sits adjacent to the historic Royal Observatory. Although temporarily closed for a transformation project, visitors can still enjoy the Prime Meridian line and other Observatory attractions. On a typical visit, guests experience a guided journey through the night sky, brought to life by state‑of‑the‑art Digistar 3 laser technology and expansive dome projections. The venue offers a serene setting in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a memorable stop for travelers seeking science, history, and wonder.
