Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
About
Shakespeare’s Globe is a faithful reconstruction of the original Elizabethan playhouse and a vibrant cultural hub on Bankside, London. The wooden ‘O’ opens its open‑air thrust stage to the public for daytime tours that showcase the theatre’s timber‑frame construction, thatched roof and iconic atmosphere. Beyond the guided tour, the Globe hosts a wide range of productions in both the historic playhouse and the adjacent Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, as well as family events, workshops and festive shows such as “Pinocchio” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Visitors can also experience the Golden Hinde exhibit, a faithful replica of Francis Drake’s 16th‑century galleon, or dine in the Swan Bar & Restaurant overlooking the Thames. The venue is fully accessible with ramps, lifts and a comprehensive Access programme, and it welcomes families with children, students, scholars and theatre‑loving audiences alike.
