A family-run business since 2011, Sun & Sand foregoes cliché Westernized Indian dishes churned out alongside sitar-heavy tunes in lieu of a more authentic approach, but with a contemporary twist. Expect tantalizing family recipes passed down through generations, attentive service, and a sleek and trendy atmosphere. Steeped in tradition, yet thoroughly modern, Sun & Sand presents a dynamic pairing of South Asian and East African flavours. The owners are descendants of the Indian diaspora to East Africa during the time of the British Empire over 150 years ago. So, when they saw a void in the Finchley Central Indian restaurant scene, they sought to fill it with their love of Indian East African cuisine.
