Waxy O'Connor's Pub
About
Waxy O’Connor's is London’s premier Irish pub, situated on Rupert Street just off Soho. The venue sprawl over six levels, each hosting a unique bar – from the lively main bar to the quiet lodge, the royal coach bar, and the emblematic church bar – all connected by a maze of staircases. In the centre of the complex stands Waxy's iconic oak tree, a living symbol of Irish hospitality that anchors the whole experience. When you step inside, the buzz of live music and the roar of huge screens greet you. Every night features traditional Irish sessions, while weekends host big sports fixtures – GAA, rugby, football, horse‑racing and even golf. With seven stories and a panoramic glory of screens, Waxy's offers an authentic pub atmosphere for chasing the game or just soaking in the lively ambience. The pub is also a favourite for group celebrations – birthdays, anniversaries, corporate meetings or Christmas parties. Private hire rooms, from the intimate two‑bar “Harp & Toucan” to the spacious “Cottage Bar” that holds 120 guests, provide the perfect setting for any occasion. All the food is prepared in‑house; menu choices range from hearty bar‑style classics to light snacks served all day. Guests over 18 are welcome; a 25 £ age check is enforced with driving licence or passport accepted. The venue keeps a smart‑casual dress code, and while a disabled toilet is not available, the staff can accommodate special needs upon calling the manager.
