Champneys Tring
About
Champneys Tring is Britain’s first health spa, founded in 1925 by naturopath Stanley Lief. Nestled on a 200‑acre estate in Hertfordshire, the resort is housed in a French Second‑Empire mansion that has been beautifully restored to combine historic elegance with the latest wellness technologies. Visitors can enjoy a comprehensive range of treatments including hydrotherapy in a heated indoor pool, massages, body wraps, advanced therapies and personalised nutritional coaching. The spa also features a Marine and Wellness Spa, the first of its kind in the UK, and a relaxed lounge area where guests can unwind in spacious gardens or a heated outdoor pool. In addition to day spa packages and evening retreats, Champneys Tring offers stylish accommodation with rooms overlooking the gardens, a fitness studio, and studio‑sized yoga, Pilates and mindfulness classes. The resort’s prime location – less than 46 minutes by train from London’s Euston station – makes it an ideal weekday escape or weekend getaway for those seeking a blend of heritage, nature and modern wellness.
