A fab, little white-washed pub, nestled on the edge of beautiful Ashridge Forest. Warm and welcoming, our country dining pub has been going strong for over 22 years and has one of the happiest and most professional teams around! The Alford is a delightful escape, where you just happen to be able to get great food, as well as everything you have come to expect from a quality bar. You can book in the dining room or our cosy terrace, with the bar and garden on a first come, first served basis. We are firm believers in using local produce wherever possible and the inventive menu changes weekly. Alongside is the village green and historic Ashridge Estate is right on our doorstep. Ramblers, dog walkers, bluebell admirers, mushroom foragers and cyclists regularly emerge from the woods, as if stumbling on Brigadoon! Yet we are only 35 minutes by train from central London and a refreshing walk from Berkhamsted train station.
