The Old George Ickleford
About
A dog & family friendly 15th Century Pub in the heart of Ickleford village on the outskirts of Hitchin. Steeped in history and local legend, the main bar boasts a centuries old inglenook fireplace to welcome our guests, leading through to a cosy dining area, were you can sample our fare. A separate Snug Bar is the perfect place to meet with friends! An intimate Courtyard Garden to the rear of this ancient property is a suntrap in the summer and a safe place for kids of all ages. The Terrace Garden, popular with dog walkers & cyclists, provides a magnificent view of the local church and we’re soon to introduce the Covered Garden, a Bedouin style tent… Our Head Chef Oliver Sturt under the guidance of respected London, and Albert Roux trained chef Andrew Turner, have created a menu of gloriously British pub fare. Where possible ingredients are locally sourced to minimise our environmental impact and seasonal specials will make the most of the produce available.
