Wendover Woods
About
Wendover Woods is a sprawling woodland located in the heart of the Chiltern Hills, offering a tranquil escape from the bustle of modern life. The forest boasts extensive walking, running, cycling and mountain‑biking trails that wind through ancient woods, open glades and undulating hilltop views. Families can delight in the new accessible play trail, the Gruffalo-themed adventures, and the inclusive play areas, while adults searching for adventure can tackle the Go Ape obstacle course or the fitness trail assault course. The forest centre—recently redeveloped with a £4.5 million investment—houses a café, a staffed information point, and a variety of facilities including accessible picnic tables, toilets, and a play area. Parking is free for the first hour, then priced at £3.50 for up to two hours, £7.00 up to four hours, and £13.00 for an all‑day stay. Coaches and minibuses also pay £21.00 and £36.00 respectively. Visitors are encouraged to explore the scenic highland viewpoints, join themed group events such as Tai Chi or laser tag, and enjoy the seasonal activities that change throughout the year. Whether you’re a casual walker, a cycling enthusiast, or simply looking to picnic amidst stunning landscapes, Wendover Woods offers something for every type of visitor.
