The Alley Cafe at Stepping Stone Studios is an unique cafe in the centre of Maidstone. Hidden down a secret little alley way, packed with great food, drink and entertainment. We serve the best fresh local Kentish produce in a variety of home made soups,delicious salads and sandwiches and freshly baked cakes and savouries. The bar stocks locally brewed ales and ciders, freshly ground coffee and teas, with plenty more on offer to accompany your lunchtime or evening visits. Aside from food, there are weekly music events such as the very popular Born Brave Jam night every Wednesday from 8pm. This night offers an organic open mic night for musicians of all levels and talents. Open til late, this evening offers you a chance to come down and sing, play or simply enjoy the music. Every first Saturday of the month, Stepping Stone Studios brings you fresh upcoming talent from across the UK, in Plugged Out. Bringing choice musicians to Maidstone town as they work their way up. One to watch for quality and new music spotting. Every second second Saturday from 8pm, we hold GIG night, our local bands slot. Reknowned for being loud and noisy this is the night to let your hair down and absorb the bass. As well as the monthly Def Poet's Society and Comedy Club, the studio offers artistic workshops most evenings of the week.
