Free to enter, the museum is run by volunteers and reliant upon donations. We have a Pit Whistle Tearoom selling drinks and light snacks. A replica miner’s cottage. The museum has a passenger railway open for event days, suitable for wheelchair users, using colliery and quarry locomotives. Passengers sit in original underground manriders as used by coalminers. Throughout the year there are family events, afternoon teas etc follow us on Facebook or Instagram @lancashireminingmuseum for more details. There’s the Tally Shop to buy a little souvenir of your visit. We are dog friendly but they must be on a lead at all times.
