Margate Caves
About
The Margate Caves are a subterranean adventure that stretches across a network of chambers in the historic town of Margate, Kent. Originally a chalk mine that powered local industry, the Caves were converted into a Victorian tourist attraction in the 19th century and have been delighting visitors for over a century. Located at 1 Northdown Road, they remain a unique blend of geology, history and imaginative storytelling. Today, the Caves host a range of guided tours and interactive exhibits that bring the past to life. Families can follow a themed “Neverland” trail, encounter life‑size recreations of classic tales, and meet Father Christmas during the holiday season. In addition to the permanent attractions, the venue offers seasonal events such as sound‑healing sessions, exhibitions of rare posters and the highly‑anticipated Christmas Island experience. The visitor experience is designed to be accessible and welcoming, with clear information on opening hours, ticketing and booking. Admission is available at a reduced price for children, senior and concession tickets, and special pricing is offered for Christmas events. Bookings for the Christmas event are required and can be completed online via the dedicated “Book Now” page. For further details, please contact 01843 838048 or email info@margatecaves.co.uk.
