Temporarily closed Our cafe opened in September 2019, inside what was the South Tees Community Bank on Redcar High Street and we are proud that this partnership formed the first Community Bank Cafe in the UK. The bank closed its doors in January 2024, but our cafe has remained open in the same venue. What really makes our cafe different is our innovative ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme, which allows our paying customers to buy a drink or snack for someone who is unable to pay for themselves, for whatever reason. Our other Footprints in the Community projects will then distribute tokens, so that their clients can come along and enjoy a drink or snack in our cafe.
