The Smiths Arms is a cosy family run country pub in rural Carlton Village. We are situated in the heart of the village, twelve miles from Darlington, and four miles from Stockton on Tees; we're ten minutes walk from Redmarshall and a short drive from nearby Bishopton. The Smiths is the only pub in the surrounding area that boasts a separate 40 cover Dining Room and its own Tap Room with a cosy open log fire. In the tap room we take great pride in our cask ales, great products and a wide variety premium gins. Good, honest home cooked food is served in our dining room using the freshest of local ingredients. The building was built in the 1900's by Irish labourers . The Blacksmith's shop, which is now the dining room was situated next to the bar. Horses were shod while drink was taken. Original features include the two oak beams in the centre of the dining room.
