Priory Country Park
About
Priory Country Park is a 300‑acre country park situated in the Newnham area of Bedford, England, along the River Great Ouse. Managed by Bedford Borough Council, the park offers a diverse mix of habitats that include a large lake, grassland, and woodland, making it a favourite destination for walkers, picnickers, and birdwatchers alike. The site boasts a marina and a sailing club on its largest lake, along with the Beefeater Grill and a nearby Premier Inn. The park’s historic roots run back to an Augustinian monastery, reflected in its stone walls and Roman bricks, and it was awarded a Green Flag for excellence in 2007. Visitors can explore scenic trails, enjoy water activities, and witness a variety of wildlife throughout the year.
