County School Station
About
Travel back to the golden age of rail travel and take a relaxing break from the stresses of modern life at County School railway station, North Elmham. County School is a unique setting perfect for catching up with friends and family, and we also welcome approaches from people wanting to celebrate special occasions or host a private party or business event. Our Tea Room, serving freshly-made and locally-sourced goods, is open on weekends from May to the end of November. From the moment you step into the 1880s station, you will be transported back to this more-relaxed era. Displays in the museum tell some of the stories of the Watt's Naval School - a former Barnardoes home that trained young boys for a life at sea and other aspects of history relating to the station. The Wensum Valley Miniature Railway gives train rides on Summer Sundays, and the restoration of the railway line southwards towards Dereham is in progress.
