The Green Dragon is Bungay’s busiest pub and oldest existing brewery, founded in 1991 by brothers Robert and William Pickard. The pub is a local institution and has a large and dedicated following, due in no small part to the fantastic quality of the beer and the pub’s convivial atmosphere. Beers brewed on site and always available are Chaucer Ale 3.7%, Bridge Street Bitter 4.5%, Gold 4.4%, Strong Mild 5.5%. A varying selection of craft beer specials are also available. Hot food is served Thursday to Saturday, from midday to 8pm and is available to eat in or takeaway. The menu, created in collaboration with Chef Ian Cooke, features international favourites such as hot Portuguese sandwiches, Canadian Poutine, and Bao Buns along with pub classics like the Ploughman’s lunch. The pub is family friendly, dog friendly and full of good hearty banter all year round. Live music plays throughout the year, usually on Sundays.
