Enjoy this peaceful, secluded location in the lakeside wooden cabin, on a 300-acre working farm, surrounded by 1.5 acres of gorgeous gardens. Overlooking the lake, this scrumptious self-catering cabin offers unique charm decorated in shabby chic style, with wonderful views across the lake to pasture/parkland. Ideal for honeymoons, romantic breaks, business visits, and convenient for foreign travellers as only 30 minutes from Heathrow. Wonderful, tranquil, rural setting in a small village bordering Oxford South at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, with no passing traffic. Have an evening wine or breakfast on the veranda watching the red kites soaring above or perching in the native black poplar tree. The garden has been featured on BBC Gardeners World and the Oxford Channel. Great local walkable pub serving good food and many others a just short drive away including Le Manoir Aux Quats Saisons. We provide a welcome pack for the first breakfast including eggs from our happy hens!The lodge is fully equipped for self catering with microwave, hob and fridge should you prefer to eat in...the choice is yours. The decor is tasteful up to date 'shabby chic' with a king-size bed and ensuite shower room. The lounge area is spacious and comfortable and has colour TV. An extra bed can be provided for a child over 5 at rate of £20 per night. Our local area is well known as a location for the long running BBC series Midsomer Murders, with many trails leading through the Chilterns. Please ask us about the 'Midsomer Murders Trail' - you can visit a host of locations including several lovely country pubs, used in the BBC series. We are near Oxford and within easy reach to London by train, and many other places of interest including N.T. properties. 2 nights minimum stay. Free broadband WIFI.
