A circular walk from St Erth along the River Hayle and returning with views over the Hayle valley which was once a lagoon separating an island of Penwith from the Cornish mainland. Clay from the lagoon bed was extracted at St Erth to form engineering moulds which were used to cast Cornwall's beam engines. 3.2 mile route. Steepness: moderate.
