St Ives Harbour Beach
About
St Ives Harbour Beach opens as the tide recedes, revealing a soft sandy stretch framed by the bustling harbour wall. Shops, pubs, cafés and galleries line the waterfront, offering a convenient stop for refreshments while you enjoy the beach. Stone piers on the south and east sides shelter the waters, creating calm conditions ideal for swimming and building sandcastles. The historic Smeaton’s Pier on the eastern side adds a unique walkway to the beach. At the southern end, the town’s lifeboat station stands ready for emergencies. While the beach is free and dog‑friendly, dogs are not allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the 1 st to 31 st of July and August.
