Wester Pickston Railway

Wester Pickston Railway runs for approximately 2km through 7 acres of landscaped woodland, 3 miles from Methven and 6 miles from Perth. Wester Pickston Railway is open to the general public four days per year - please see our website for dates and full details of open days. On open days a mix of steam, diesel and electric locomotives will pull carriages for rides around the 7¼″ and 5″ gauge woodland track (tickets are bought on-site). Additionally, the model railway shed (63A) will be open showcasing O, OO and N gauge layouts, and the 32mm gauge garden railway will be running. Furthermore, on open days there is a cafe serving tea, coffee and cakes. There is also a grassy picnic area where you are welcome to bring your own food and watch the trains rolling in and out of the main station. The railway is owned and run by the Scottish Model Engineering Trust, a Scottish registered charity. The Trust also opens the railway to other groups of all ages by appointment.
