About

The Granary Tearoom The Old Granary is full of charm and character with its original oak beams and small latted windows and is a delightful place to meet up with friends and enjoy traditional farmhouse fayre. It is extremely comfortable and warm (a bitterly cold day in December at the time of writing!). All the hot water and heating in the Farmshop & Tearoom is supplied from a very efficient woodchip burner which is Mark's pride and joy!! We serve freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea and Coopers Coffee together with home baked scones, cakes and pastries, farmhouse breakfasts, cooked lunches and afternoon teas with "Specials" on the menu every day. All meals are cooked fresh to order and the ingredients may be purchased in the Farmshop! On Sundays we serve a traditional Sunday lunch of Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding and booking is advisable. The Farmshop & Tearoom is licensed and we offer an excellent selection of wines and beers, etc. For customers unable to negotiate the stairs there are two tables in the Farmshop with waitress service. Meals can be taken at the picnic tables in the covered foldyard next to the Childrens' Play Area and during the summer months we have tables and chairs outside in the sunshine! Farm Shop customers can enjoy a "Unique Farm Shopping Experience" in lovely surroundings and purchase fresh farm produce "a complete meal" and enjoy tea and coffee and farmhouse baking in our traditional Granary Tearoom. We provide ample free parking, toilets and disabled access. Pride of place in the Farmshop is our fresh meat counter with our own resident Butcher who can offer you advice about particular cuts of meat and cooking instructions! The counter is full of our home grown beef together with lamb, pork, local free range poultry, game, sausages, burgers, "Jenny's Wellies", Mark's Tractor Wheels, Chicken parcels, Yorkshire bacon, gammon and so much more!! Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered daily and to compliment the fresh, seasonal produce we have freezers full of a great selection of loose fruit and vegetables which are all prepared ready to go straight into the oven. We also sell "Cooks" Frozen Ready Meals which are very popular with our customers. They are excellent quality and very good value. We have two Cooks' Freezers full of savoury meals in both one and two portions and also puddings, roulades and cheesecakes for special occasions. A fifth freezer is bursting with our own homemade fruit and savory pies, gravies, baking and Brymor Ice Cream made with milk from their herd of Jersey cows at Jervaulx, Masham .Our Deli Counter offers a wide selection of Yorkshire cheeses including Yorkshire Blue, Jervaulx Blue, Cotherstone, Smoked Applewood, numerous varieties from Wensleydale Creameries, Mature Cheddar from Botton Village to name but a few! Alongside the cheese we have home cooked meats, pates, port and game pies, quiches, pastries and salads all prepared in our own kitchen upstairs. To complete the shop there is dairy produce, fresh bread and cakes from Norton Bakery, Yoadwath Mill smoked fish, pickles and preserves from award winning Bracken Hill Preserves based at Elvington, York, local honey, Bothams biscuits, Yorkshire Tea and Coopers Coffee and much, much more .........."Fridays are Fish Days" at the Farmshop & Tearoom. Mick Burns brings fresh fish from Grimsby and sells this from his van from 9.30 a.m. until approx. 2.00 p.m.
