About

Dartmoor Zoological Society, situated just north of Sparkwell on the southwestern edge of Devon’s Dartmoor National Park, is a 33‑acre wildlife sanctuary that blends conservation, education, and adventure. Since its rebirth in 2007 after a brief closure, the zoo has grown into a family‑friendly destination home to more than 70 species, ranging from iconic African big cats and Asian tigers to charming woodland animals such as capybaras, meerkats and lynx. Visitors can stroll through dedicated enclosures, watch live animal demonstrations, and enjoy the on‑site café serving local produce. A unique feature of the zoo is its Annual Pass, granted free with every general admission ticket, encouraging repeat visits and sustained support for conservation projects.
