About

Tripadvisor already lists the interesting Artillery Tower restaurant built into a fourteenth century gun fort close to the entrance to Devonport dockyard still the largest naval base in western Europe. It is usually open only evenings. But just alongside with it's own car park, a fantastic view of the frequent close passing warships and close to the local tennis and croquet courts as well as the outer perimeter wall of the stylish Georgian Royal William Yard. The cafe does a no stop trade in snacks sandwiches rolls and hot and cold drinks. Recently extended to provide more seating inside this is a constant daytime meeting point for people using he Coastal footpath sportsmen and women and lots of walkers. The view across this inner corner of Plymouth Sound into the Mount Edgecombe country park makes for an attractive and restful experience. Well deserves a listing.
