Applecross Campsite
About
Applecross Campsite lies high above the charming village of Applecross in Ross‑Shire, offering sweeping views of the Inner Sound and the surrounding islands of Raasay, Rhona and the Black Cuillin of Skye. The 60‑unit site caters to tents, motorhomes, touring caravans and fully insulated camping huts, providing a range of pitches that can accommodate families, couples, solo travelers and dog‑owners alike. Facilities include a fully functional hot‑water shower block, a laundry room equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer, electric hook‑up points and a payphone. Dogs are welcome on the premises, with a small per‑night fee, and free‑standing BBQs are allowed (but campfires are prohibited). Guests can arrive after 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and must check out by 11.00 am, with reception open daily from 9.00‑11.00 am and 2.00‑7.00 pm. During the open season (1 March – 31 October) the site offers a relaxed, nature‑driven experience that is ideal for wildlife spotting, scenic walks and peaceful evenings on the Isle of Skye. The campsite is easily accessible by car via the steep single‑track highroad, which is open to large vehicles with an experienced driver. We recommend visiting between spring and early autumn, avoiding the peak midge season in July and August for the best experience.
