Danby Lodge National Park Centre
About
Danby Lodge National Park Centre is the gateway to the North York Moors, perched on the banks of the Esk River in the picturesque village of Danby. As one of the country’s recognised Dark‑Sky sites, the centre offers visitors a unique stargazing experience alongside a range of educational displays that bring the park’s wildlife, geology and cultural heritage to life. Inside the lodge you’ll find a welcoming visitor centre with informative exhibits, a small gift shop featuring local crafts, and a café where guests can enjoy refreshments. Outside, the grounds feature wheelchair‑friendly woodland and riverside walks, picnic spots, and the adventure play area “Danby Den” for children. The centre is open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Sunday, and admission is free.
