About

Fieldhead campsite is in the centre of Edale village at the foot of Kinder Scout and the start of the Pennine way. Giving perfect access onto the fells for walkers and cyclists. Edale has two cosey welcoming pubs along with cafes to choose from. We are a small 45 pitch site around the back of the Peak District National Park visitor centre. If walking and cycling is what your interested in, then we re the place for you. We are a quiet site that welcomes everyone that wants to experience the outdoors whether that be wild swimming, climbing, hill walking, mountain biking or just sitting outside reading a book to get away from it all. There is limited signal of any kind on site so there will be no pestering from the outside world so you can holiday in peace. The team are always happy to give advise or route ideas, with so many to choose from. The great Kinder Scout where the mass trespass happened, the Shivering mountain of Mam Tor, Lose Hill and Win Hill, not forgetting the amazing edges in the dark peak of Stanage, Bamford and Derwent. The dams at Fairhomes are also worth a visit and are easily walked and cycled around. Or if you prefer a dales walk these are not hard to find. Head towards the white peak and you will find various long and short walks in the dales that are steeped in history. One of the biggest bonusses of the Peak District is that you are never to far from a pub for that pit stop half way round or to warm up afterwards. If you fancy a potter around quaint villages there are plenty to choose from. Castleton is just over the hill a short drive away or a nice loop walk where you can explore many of the caverns where Blue John is formed. Or there is the hustle bustle outdoor centre of Hathersage. Or if you fancy more market town then Bakewell is the place for you. Chatsworth estate isn't a long drive away if the weather has turned the house and gardens are worth a visit. As well as Haddon Hall and the Mining Museum at Matlock Bath.
