Magna Science Adventure Centre
About
Magna Science Adventure Centre is a leading science attraction located on Sheffield Road in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, housed within the historic former Steel, Peech and Tozer steelworks. The centre invites visitors to explore the history of steelmaking through interactive displays spread across four themed pavilions—Earth, Air, Fire, and Water—connected by suspended walkways, stairways and tunnels. An outdoor playground, Sci‑Tek, offers hands‑on experiments that defy gravity, while Aqua‑Tek provides water play activities for all ages. A highlight is the hourly “Big Melt” show, which recreates a steel arc furnace with fire, sound and steam, and the annual Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival attracts music lovers each summer. Magna’s award‑winning architecture earned the RIBA Stirling Prize and the Enjoy England Gold Award for Business Tourism, making it a top destination for families, school groups and science enthusiasts.
